DIALOGHI SUL MEDITERRANEO / THE LAST SUPPER PROJECT

19 – 23 July 2021 Galatina, Italy

From the 18 to 25 July 2021, DOMUS and LO.FT Locali Fotografici welcomed in Puglia, many researchers from the Mediterranean, invited to share their research, to exchange their knowledge and practices in a spirit of teamwork. The week of the residency also included round-tables discussion open to the public that you can find here, around our three main research areas:

  1. Three days of internal group study, during which the researchers will share their work and professional approaches in dialogue with local researchers, associations and artists living in the area. (read more in the programme)

  2. Public roundtables on our three main research areas: Gender identities in the Mediterranean / Environment and ecology in the Mediterranean / Migration flows in the Mediterranean basin (read more in the programme)

  3. Creation of the Performance/video The Last Supper (La Cène), with the participation of all guests of the residence, around a table in the middle of a field of dried olive trees, infected by the bacterium. The Last Supper Project (La Cène) is a processual and relational work, a choral investigation of the Mediterranean through moments of study/conversations between researchers gathered in the Salento. The project reflects on the relationship between violence in the environment and gender, care and regeneration. The performance is a shared investigation of the most urgent contemporary issues through a feminist and decolonial sensitivity and artistic perspective that aims to combine theoretical thought with artistic and community practices. The performance took place at La Carcara (Agriturismo La Carcara) in Galatina and the table of the performance was designed by our partner Level Project.
