Architect and researcher employed at the National Research Council (CNR) since 2001. He is currently Senior Technologist at CNR NANOTEC (Institute of Nanotechnology) in Lecce.

Founder and scientific director of the Information Technologies Lab (IBAM ITlab) at IBAM-CNR, he is the author of a volume on Virtual Archaeology and of more than 150 articles published in conference proceedings, books, and specialized journals in the field of information technology applied to the knowledge, valorization, and use of Cultural Heritage.

He has received numerous awards for the production of digital content for museums and has provided 3D content for numerous television broadcasts.

He obtained the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor (2nd level), under Call D.D. 2175/2018, Sector 10/A1 – Archaeology (valid from 11/10/2020 to 11/10/2029).

For about twenty years, he has carried out research aimed at the knowledge, dissemination, and use of Cultural Heritage through the use of information technologies, within the following thematic areas:

  • Development of platforms for the virtual use of Cultural Heritage

  • Reconstructive study of ancient monuments and landscapes through the use of 3D technologies

  • Survey and representation of built heritage through direct and indirect methods

  • Storytelling and scientific communication, with particular reference to the use of new digital languages and photorealistic representation techniques in outreach products
