Giovanna Romano (Siena, 1976) is a professional journalist, press officer for a banking institution, and director of two periodicals. She began working at age 17 for the daily newspaper "La Nazione" and graduated with a degree in History of Journalism from the University of Siena. She is the first female president of the Gruppo Stampa Autonomo Siena, an association of Sienese journalists founded in 1968, and she works on international cooperation projects in Africa. She is a mother of 3 children, author of "Un tiro mancino. Storia del campione di scherma Matteo Betti" (A Left-Handed Shot. The Story of Fencing Champion Matteo Betti), and a painter with numerous exhibitions to her credit.
