Born in Paris into a Mediterranean family, Lauren Malka grew up watching her aunts and grandmothers cook delicious meals for their men while pretending to nibble to stay slim. She thus developed two contradictory passions: one for the culinary arts and the other for dieting!
A writer, independent journalist, and podcaster (notably for "Les Epicurieux" by Jamy Gourmaud and for Livres Hebdo), Lauren Malka wrote the book Mangeuses. Histoire de celles qui dévorent, savourent ou se privent à l'excès (Pérégrines, October 2023), contributed to several feminist anthologies (published by Rageot, Causette, and Flammarion). She also wrote the Lexique des dyslexiques, a series of fictions on dys disorders (starring Stéphane de Groodt on Canal+, 2024) and directed the film La France aux fourneaux, a history of France through its culinary practices (90-minute documentary presented by François Morel on France 5, December 2020).
