MADZIA ZALEWA
Residents of October 2025
Madzia Zalewa is a Berlin-based intermedia artist working at the intersection of multispecies ethnography, folklore, and food preservation. She explores these themes by reimagining rituals in relation to nature, driven by the belief that rituals and traditions have the power to facilitate community healing and resistance
Her practice is informed by her background in set design, particularly when it comes to creating large-scale, interactive installations and ephemeral sculptures. In her work, she often incorporates signs and symbols drawn from pop culture, mythology, and childhood fairy tales, triggering memories and inviting the viewer to engage in a participatory experience.
