Artist, filmmaker, photographer, and videomaker, born in Salento, the Italian "finis terrae" of Puglia, in 1978. She holds a degree in Documentary and Experimental Cinematography from the University of Bologna (Italy) and a diploma in Contemporary Arts and New Media from Le Fresnoy, the National Studio for Contemporary Arts (Pina Bausch Promotion 2009–2011), in France, in the city of Lille, where she currently lives.
Since 2006, her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions and at numerous festivals across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. Her films have received numerous awards; in 2011 she won the Prix des Amis du Fresnoy for best installation. Her research has been supported by numerous scholarships and production grants (Ministry of Culture and Communication, Fondation Culture et Diversité, Ligue de l'enseignement, DRAC Hauts-de-France, Apulia Film Commission, the "Ritorno al Futuro" grant, Artois Comm. / Labanque). In recent years she has worked as an artist in residence in England, France, Italy, Romania, and Iceland. In 2015 she was an official member of the jury of the Al Jazeera International Documentary Film Festival in Doha, Qatar.
Since 2017 she has taught Digital Photography and History of Contemporary Artistic Practices at the Centre for Plastic and Visual Arts of the City of Lille. Since 2018 she has held a TD (tutorial/seminar) course on Aesthetic Analysis of 20th-Century Arts at the University of Lille, within the Cultural Studies degree program. In September 2019 she became a qualified art teacher, specializing in visual arts, film, and video.
