OPEN STUDIO - SEPT

  • Domus Artist Residency (map)

The Domus Artist Residency is pleased to open its doors and welcome you back for the September Open Studio of the In_Residence programme.

You are invited to join us on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, to explore the research and work of our current resident, Margherita Muriti whose residency is supported by the Institut Français as part of the Nouveau Grand Tour 2025.

Margherita Muriti is an Italian artist and teacher based in Paris. She graduated from the École de Gobelins in 2017 and holds a Master’s in Arts & Ecology from Dartington College of Arts, obtained in 2023. Her transdisciplinary practice combines photography, installation, video, sound, and textiles to investigate the relationships between humans and other living beings. Her work emphasizes attention, reciprocity, and interconnection.

For her residency at Domus, Margherita is developing "Dressing the Earth: The Olive Tree as Landscape Archive," a project that examines the olive tree as a living archive of memory, care, and loss in Mediterranean landscapes. This ongoing research reflects on the centuries-old bond between humans and olive trees, exploring their presence, disappearance, and the transformations of the land they inhabit. Through artistic gestures, the project engages with personal and collective narratives, practices of regeneration, and mourning rituals, inviting us to reimagine our connection to these trees and the landscapes they shape.

She has also presented solo exhibitions such as God, How Shall I Pray? (Rencontres Internationales de Niort, 2018) and Le Blanc Nuit (curated by Garance Laporte, VAP, Venice, 2019). In 2025, she collaborated with The Nature of Cities as curator of a roundtable on Kinship with Trees and Forests.

We look forward to welcoming you on Friday, September 26, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Domus Artist Residency.
